Philosophy of Education:
I want to become an elementary school teacher to change how children grow and learn new ideas and experiences. I want the future of the world to succeed wherever life takes them. I want to make a difference for the better in future generations. It all starts with the youngest of the human race. I want the people of society to not only have better respect and morals, but a positive outlook on life with high rates of intelligence and creativity. I want to encourage children to speak their minds and let them know they matter, as well as the fact that they have a voice. I want them to learn to be open-minded and never hold back on new ideas they come up with or want to share with others. I want them to be able to walk into a classroom feeling confident and motivated instead of fearful and shameful. I want to teach children that there is more than one way to learn a concept and to never give up on anything.
I plan to obtain a teaching position in any public elementary school. I want to obtain this position for multiple reasons. Children at this age can be extremely open to learning new concepts and absorbing material more easily. They seem always motivated to learn and excited to try anything new that comes their way. Most enjoy participating and can be creative and vocal about their wants and needs. As a teacher, each personality of theirs can give me an even better idea of the realm of my classroom and how I convey curriculum and lessons. Reading my students individually and creating lesson plans makes all this incredibly enjoyable.
As a potential elementary school teacher, my strongest characteristics include the following traits and more that others or I have seen myself display during fieldwork. I am kind with a big heart and open-minded regarding activities to use with students. I am fair and enforce rules to set a proper example for all. I am respectful when it comes to working with other adults and students. In addition, I always have a positive attitude toward anything in life. I keep everything light, engaging, and interactive to keep the day flowing right. I am always on my feet and actively working with students, getting them to move by moving around with them to encourage participation and new learning methods. I am exceptionally observant and always praise excellent behavior and skills whenever possible to provide intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
